Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of 120 identified, naturally occurring, organic compound that comes from the leaf of the sativa plant. It is a safe, non-addictive, non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid, which means CBD can be enjoyed for its impressive therapeutic benefits, without the risk of a “high”.

No, it won’t! As mentioned above, CBD is non-intoxicating and, because we screen our CBD to have less than 1mg of THC and any other cannabinoids in each bottle, you won’t get a negative psychoactive “high”.

Yes, as long as CBD companies respect the new regulations! Unfortunately, the line between legal and illegal CBD products has been blurred for years. However, since January 2019, it was made very clear that CBD companies are now required to submit a novel food dossier to the European Food Standards Authority (FSA) in order to be placed on the market in compliance with published FSA & Home Office guidelines. Sadly, most companies have not done this and as of March 2021, any companies without an application and testing submitted will not legally be allowed to sell.

We are proud to say that our CBD has been given Assured Advice from Trading Standards helping to give long overdue quality & compliance into the UK CBD market.

Whilst the research into CBD is ever expanding, CBD products are not intended to treat, cure, or prevent any diseases or conditions.

The main reason is bioavailability, which is how much of a substance enters the circulatory system when introduced into the body and therein has an effect on the body (essentially the effectiveness of the product).

Tinctures and sprays both use CBD oil, which is used sublingually (underneath the tongue) and absorbed through the mucus membranes of the mouth. This allows for it to quickly interact with the endocannabinoid system. When using droppers, the CBD oil is concentrated on one location in the mouth, whereas using a spray, such as PURE 100 CBD, allows for the CBD Oil to be effectively spread over a greater surface area of the mucus membranes under the tongue.

When using capsular CBD, it must pass through our digestive system, which is not a quick process and, in doing so, some of the CBD is lost in the digestive tract and filtered through the liver. This can mean that only around 13-19% (sometimes as low as 6%!) of the CBD enters the circulatory system.

Using a CBD spray is easy! When starting out we recommend three sprays a day, spread throughout the day, underneath the tongue. It is best to hold it there for 30-90 seconds before swallowing to allow it to be absorbed through the mucus membranes in the mouth so that you get all of the benefits in a show amount of time. We advise that you slowly increase the dose over the course of several weeks, in order to find the right dose for you.

CBD has shown to be safe to use in high doses, and has not been found to have a fatal dosage. However, you can take too much CBD that could potentially lead to an increased chance of side effects such as lethargy, increased tiredness or drowsiness.  You should not exceed 70mg of CBD (which is approximately 10 sprays of our Pure 100 CBD sprays) in a 24 hour period.

If you are currently taking medication, we advise that you consult your doctor or Pharmacist before using CBD.

One effective way of knowing what CBD might interact with is to use the “grapefruit comparison”, grapefruit juice interacts with medications and drugs in the same way that CBD does by inhibiting an enzyme in the body called cytochrome p450. Therefore, if a drug advises that you should not consume grapefruit juice, they should not be consumed with CBD.  In all instances, however, we advise that you consult your doctor prior to taking CBD.

Our products go through rigorous third party, government-approved laboratory testing to make sure that not only do you know that you’re getting accurate purity and concentrations of CBD, but also minimal THC, heavy metals, any other potentially harmful substances and contaminants. Our CBD is tested to be inline with EU permitted safety levels.

PURE 100 CBD hemp biomass is organic and all of our products are vegan friendly.
